CM132: “You Can’t Be Efficient With People”

Efficiency is an important part of business, but don’t try it with your employees – you can’t be efficient with people.
In the workplace, managers never have enough time, so they do their best to be efficient, even with people. Here’s the problem: YOU CAN’T BE EFFICIENT WITH PEOPLE! Developing your people takes time. In many ways, leadership is about changing the way you invest your available time.
The magic of recognition is that it costs little or nothing except your time. However, managers quite often fail to use the most powerful leadership tool available to them. Recognition creates value, and valued employees are far more engaged than other employees. Yet, managers, for some bizarre reason, continue to try to be efficient with people instead of investing that time to be effective leaders.
Join Kelly and Robby as they continue with this second episode about the value of recognition (and don’t miss the amazing first episode, “Recognition is for Everyone, Boomers“).
